Amanda Dausener

The 2016-17 school year is my first as the resource teacher for E.L. Frierson Elementary. I am overjoyed to be part of the Frierson family! This is my 13th year teaching and my 7th year with Charleston County School District. I have worked almost entirely at the high school level but very much welcome the move to elementary. I work for CCSD part time and am at Frierson Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-3:10.

I welcome the opportunity to meet you! Please use the contact information below to let me know the best way for us to communicate. Email is the quickest way to reach me.

If you have questions about any of the following or anything else, please contact me.
~your child's Individual Education Plan (IEP),
~his or her disability or disabilities
~learning goals
~strategies for dealing with academic or behavior problems

I am also happy to provide information and guidance about the special education process or direct you to other agencies that support people with disabilities.

You and I, along with your child's general education teacher and the other support staff at the school, are a team that will work together to make sure we meet your child's needs.

Office Hours: Mon, Tues and Thur 8:30am-3:10pm

Resource students are assigned the same daily homework EVERY day!

They should spend at least 15 minutes a day reading a book or magazine at their appropriate level although more time is preferable. Your reading to them is also a fun and educational activity!

Students should also practice fluency and speed with math facts daily. This can be done with flash cards or online games. See the list below for suggestions.
