4th Grade: Jenna Patrick

Mrs. Patrick has been teaching at Frierson Elementary for two years and has sixteen years of teaching experience.  For the past ten years, she has taught third grade.  She also has experience in first and second grade classrooms.  She graduated from Winthrop University in 2003 with a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education.

She lives on James Island with her husband Donnie, two children, Kale and Brennan, her dog, Sadie, and her cat Oscar.

Mrs. Patrick's classroom is a Personalized Learning classroom.  This means that all students learn through small group and individualized instruction.  Each student has their own learning plan and work to master all standards.

Students use Lexia, MyOn, and Achieve3000 to assist in mastery of ELA standards.  Students use ALEKS, Dreambox, and Front to assist in mastery of math standards.  All students have access to these programs at home as well.

We have begun studying the eight types of grammar and using the hamburger model in writing.  The students will practice this in all subject areas.  We are continuing working on division.  In science we are finishing our study of animals and their adaptations.  We will have a special artist in residence that will be working with our students in March on an animal and their adaptations project.  In Social Studies we have begun the study of the Revolutionary War.
